Meloset

Meloset containing the active ingredient Melatonin is a synthetic version of a hormone that is produced in the brain. It works by adjusting and regulating the body's internal clock and sleep-wake cycles. It is mainly used to treat jet lag, delayed sleep phase syndrome (DSPS) as well as insomnia associated with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), high blood pressure medications and children with developmental disorders. Some people may also use the medication for Alzheimer's disease, menopause, birth control and other conditions. Meloset is usually taken orally once per day 1 to 2 hours prior to bedtime or as directed by a doctor. The medication should be taken with a snack or just after some food along with a drink of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient's condition and their response to the therapy. The tablets should be swallowed whole and not crushed, broken or chewed because it is designed to release the drug slowly for a more even effect. Patients using Meloset may encounter unwanted side effects such as: headaches, day time drowsiness, dizziness, upset stomach, fatigue, inflammation of the throat, irritability, restlessness or nervousness, mental or mood changes. Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes and hives.
